BEST LOCAL HISTORICAL STOP Shakespeare Society of America Mission is to provide Public Benefit Programs which inspire education and personal development through the Works of William Shakespeare relating to history, culture, literature, theatre and art in America. The SSA California non-profit corporation since 1968 was stage centric at the Globe Theatre/Playhouse in West Hollywood. In 2006, SSA had to relocate, packed up and began reorganization in the digital age without a stage. By September 2008 the SSA relocated to Moss Landing, introducing nearly 20,000 people, from 129 countries to the New Shakespeare Sanctuary and SSA Collection of Rare/Reference books; Shakespearean Museum/Memorabilia items, Visual Arts artifacts, and SSA Theatre Arts archive.

Home school visits are now trending. This stop makes for a great day trip for anyone! Shakespeare Society of America New Shakespeare Sanctuary is located right off of Hwy 1 about 20 miles from Santa Cruz at 7981 Moss Landing Road. Hours: 10am – 5pm usually Everyday.
